What Is the Difference Between Aluminum Profile and Aluminum Extrusion?

The terms Aluminum Profile and Aluminum Extrusion are closely related but have slightly different meanings.

An Aluminum Extrusion refers to the manufacturing process used to shape aluminum. In this process, aluminum is forced through a die to produce long components with uniform cross sections.

An Aluminum Profile, on the other hand, refers to the final product created by the extrusion process. It is the shaped aluminum component with a specific cross-sectional design, such as a T-slot profile, angle profile, or channel profile.

In simple terms, extrusion is the process, while the aluminum profile is the resulting product.
